Welcome to Love Elephant Sanctuary Bangkok. These Terms & Conditions govern your booking of, and participation in, any visit, program, or experience offered by Love Elephant Sanctuary Bangkok (“the Sanctuary”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Please read them carefully. By making a booking or completing payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms on behalf of yourself and all members of your party.

1. Bookings & Reservations

All visits must be booked and paid for in advance through our website. A booking is only confirmed once full payment has been received and you have received a confirmation email from us. Bookings must be made at least three (3) hours before your selected session start time. We operate two daily sessions, and places are limited to protect the wellbeing of our elephants; we therefore cannot guarantee availability for walk-in or last-minute requests.

When booking, you are responsible for providing accurate information, including the correct visit date, session, number of guests, visitor type (adult or child), and pickup point. We are not liable for any issue arising from incorrect or incomplete details provided by you.

2. Pricing & Payment

All prices are displayed in Thai Baht (THB) and are payable in full at the time of booking. Prices include the items described in each program and round-trip transfer from the designated pickup point only. We reserve the right to amend prices at any time, but confirmed bookings already paid for will not be affected.

3. No Refund Policy

All bookings are final, non-refundable, and non-transferable under any circumstances. No refund, credit, or partial refund will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to: non-attendance (“no-show”), late or missed arrival at the pickup point, early departure, change of mind, illness, injury, travel disruption, traffic, flight delays, or adverse weather.

By completing your booking and payment, you expressly acknowledge and accept this No Refund Policy. As a courtesy, and entirely at our sole discretion where operationally possible, we may offer to reschedule your visit to an alternative date. Rescheduling is not guaranteed, is offered on a case-by-case basis, and does not create any entitlement to a refund. Any request to reschedule must be made by contacting us before your scheduled session.

4. Arrival, Pickup & Punctuality

Transfers depart from one of our two designated pickup points only:

  • Ekkamai BTS — meeting at Wat That Thong.
  • Villa Cha Cha Restaurant — Khao San Road area.

We do not offer hotel pickup or self-drive arrangements. Please arrive at your chosen pickup point at least ten (10) minutes before the scheduled departure time. Our transfers operate on a fixed schedule to protect our daily routine and the elephants’ feeding and rest times. If you arrive late and miss your transfer, this is treated as a no-show and no refund will be given.

5. Health, Safety & Assumption of Risk

Elephants are large, powerful, wild animals. While we maintain strict ethical and safety standards, interaction with elephants and activity in a natural environment carries inherent risks that cannot be entirely eliminated. By participating, you voluntarily accept these risks on behalf of yourself and your party.

You must follow all instructions given by our guides and mahouts at all times. We reserve the right to refuse or stop participation of any guest who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, behaves unsafely, or fails to follow instructions, without refund. Please inform us in advance of any medical condition, allergy, pregnancy, or mobility limitation that may affect your participation.

6. Visitor Conduct & Ethical Guidelines

Our sanctuary is a home of care, not a place of entertainment. To protect our elephants and other guests, you agree to:

  • Treat all elephants, staff, and fellow guests with respect at all times.
  • Only feed, touch, or approach elephants under the direct guidance of our team.
  • Never use flash photography, shout, tease, or startle the animals.
  • Refrain from bringing prohibited items, including but not limited to outside food for the elephants, drones, or single-use plastics.

We strictly prohibit elephant riding, the use of hooks, and performance shows, and we ask that all guests share these values during their visit.

7. Children & Special Requirements

Children are welcome but must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times. The accompanying adult is fully responsible for the safety and conduct of any child in their care. For the safety of both guests and elephants, our guides may set age-based limits on certain activities.

8. Photography & Media

We may take photographs or video during sessions for our records and promotional purposes. By participating, you consent to such images being used by the Sanctuary unless you notify us in writing before your visit. You are welcome to take personal photographs, but commercial filming or photography requires our prior written permission.

9. Changes or Cancellation by the Sanctuary

The welfare of our elephants always comes first. We may occasionally need to modify, postpone, or cancel a session — for example due to an elephant’s health, safety concerns, severe weather, or events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure). In the rare event that we cancel a session, we will offer you the choice of rescheduling to another available date. Because of the nature of our operation, cancellations by the Sanctuary do not give rise to a monetary refund.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Sanctuary, its owners, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any injury, loss, or damage to persons or property, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the consumer protection laws of Thailand.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, photographs, logos, and graphics — is the property of Love Elephant Sanctuary Bangkok and may not be reproduced or used without our written permission.

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Thailand.
